Woman pleads not guilty in fatal crash on reservation
GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) — A woman has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge related to a crash that killed a 20-year-old pedestrian on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation.
The Great Falls Tribune reports Shayanna Marie England of Browning was arraigned in federal court Tuesday on a charge of involuntary manslaughter. Prosecutors say she was driving recklessly on Jan. 16, causing the death of 20-year-old Eljay Young Running Crane.
The Montana Highway Patrol suspects alcohol was a factor in the crash.
England also pleaded not guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury against a second victim on the same day.
A trial has not been set.
