Backtalk: 11/16/2018

November 16, 2018

BUM DEAL: Alex Cora was robbed. He was the best manager in baseball, and yet the sportswriters didn’t pick him American League manager of the year. The guy’s team won 119 games, including the playoffs? So what, give him the award next year when the Sox finish second? What a joke these awards have become.

AX WILL FALL: The Democrats might have won back the House but it’s the American people like myself who own a small business, have a few workers, and contribute to the community who will be sorry when they repeal all the Trump tax cuts.

Lowell

HIGH ANXIETY: You have the original Democratic party that stood for the people and working class and then you have the progressives who want to increase entitlement programs for the illegal immigrants. I used to be a Democrat, but I can’t be anymore. I’m a senior citizen who worked all my life for a secure retirement. I don’t feel it is secure anymore.

BACKTALK OR BUST: This is a comment to the editor: I live for Backtalk and reading all the commentaries from people calling in. If you don’t run Backtalk, I will cancel my paper. The Sun should hire more people and have a full page of Backtalk.

Lowell

END THE CIRCUS: The Mueller investigation has gone on for over a year. There’s nothing there. We are wasting money just to go after Trump. Now we’re getting more investigations from the Democrats in the House and nothing will get done. Stop it.

Westford

WHAT’S UP?: Chelmsford can bring in more revenue to the town if it starts its own ambulance service. But Paul Cohen doesn’t want it and neither does the Chelmsford Business Association. Why? Westford has a successful program and Chelmsford can too. There’s something missing here.
