VALLEY SANTA: Financial Hardships Have Mothers Reaching Out

December 3, 2018

Valley Santa receives many letters from parents who need help buying Christmas presents for their children and a majority come from single mothers.

Jessica, a single mother of four children, said she has a limited income as a result of working and trying to go back to school.

“I find I only have money for the basic necessities,” she wrote in a letter to Valley Santa. “Any help with Christmas presents would be greatly appreciated.”

Sarah, another single mother who has three children under age 4, said she works full-time but there is not much left over after paying bills and rent and buying food.

“Anything you can do to help my children have a nice Christmas would be very much welcomed,” she wrote.

Danielle, another local single mother, said this has been a rough year for her financially and she is looking for a better year with her children.

She also asked for Valley Santa’s help to buy Christmas presents for her children.

“My children are very important to me and I love them very much. I would like to be able to give them some gifts at Christmas because they deserve it very much. My daughters and son are very special and are really good children. They are also very smart,” she wrote in her letter. “Any help would be greatly appreciated.”
