Mayfest in Mount Carroll

MOUNT CARROLL – Mayfest returns to the grounds of the old Shimer College, 203 E. Seminary St. Friday through Sunday, with a Civil War reenactment, arts and crafts, a car show on Sunday, the Mayfest 5K run, a Kids Zone, and lots of live music and food.

National exhibit leaving TNPS

DIXON – The 35th Illinois Watercolor Society National Exhibit ends, featuring 59 works from across the country and overseas, ends Friday at The Next Picture Show, 113 W. First St.

SAVANNA – Poopy’s Pub & Grub will be rockin’ this Memorial Day weekend with scores of live bands Friday through Monday, and a car show from 11 a.m. to 4 pm Monday at the bar at 1030 Viaduct Road.

Haunted history tours

OREGON – The Old Road House Steakhouse Landmark Building presents a haunted history dinner tour and show from 5 to 7:30 or 8 p.m. Sunday at 807 S. Seventh St.

The cost is $32.50, which includes a seven-course buffet and nonalcoholic beverages, a haunted history slide show, and a building tour, including a secret basement gambling room.
