Mandi Olson is the new director of Ready Set School, the organization’s board of directors announced in a press release.

“Ready Set School is fortunate to have Mandi join and lead our organization,” Ready Set School Board president Jenny Baertsch said. “Her extensive background and enthusiasm for giving back to the community are a great fit to carry out our mission and vision.”

“I’m honored to serve this established and vital program for Winona County,” Olson said. “I look forward to meeting the various constituents involved.”

Olson brings a wealth of experience into her new role. She currently serves as the Director of International Admissions for Cotter Schools, and since 2010 has also held the roles of Alumni and Events Coordinator, Centennial Coordinator, Admissions Associate, and Assistant to the President at Cotter. Additionally, Olson worked as an Executive Assistant for Winona County, and also Director of Development for Winona ORC Industries. She has served the Winona community in many ways, sitting on the City Planning Commission for five years, volunteering for Leave A Legacy, serving as a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and helping to establish the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals program. She also used to write a weekly column for the Winona Daily News.

Olson and her husband, Todd, live in Winona with their children, Maylene (4) and Susanna (2).

Ready Set School is a non-profit organization working to provide eligible K-12 students in Winona County the basic and necessary supplies and clothing to be successful in the classroom. Funded by private, public, and business donations, all funds raised go directly to families in the form of vouchers. Those vouchers are only redeemable at participating Winona retailers, keeping the funds in our community.
