US Ski Team adds Brandon Dyksterhouse as interim coach
VAIL, Colorado (AP) — The United States ski team has brought in Brandon Dyksterhouse on an interim basis to work with Olympic slalom champion Mikaela Shiffrin and the rest of the women’s technical team.
The addition of Dyksterhouse is through a partnership with Ski and Snowboard Club Vail, the team said Wednesday. Alpine Director Patrick Riml said the collaboration was fostered by Dyksterhouse’s work with the U.S. team in Vail.
Earlier this month, the team reassigned women’s technical coach Roland Pfeifer, who had been working with Shiffrin. For the past 3 ½ years, Pfeifer had been instrumental in Shiffrin’s rise to the top.
Riml said he is “confident” that Dyksterhouse will “make a difference and will help our athletes to reach their goals.”
