County board asked to support veterans clinic
More health services could be on the way to Mason County, and a conference is certainly heading this way based on public comments during the Mason County Board of Commissioners meeting Tuesday evening at the Mason County Courthouse.
Jennifer Smeltzer, the chair of the Manistee Community Based Outpatient Clinic Task Force, requested the board to consider a resolution backing the establishment of a clinic to handle cases for those veterans living in Benzie, Manistee, Mason and Lake counties.
“We’re doing this as a grassroots effort, and we’re doing it through Congress,” Smeltzer said during public comments.
