Pumas change 3 for All Blacks test in La Plata
LA PLATA, Argentina (AP) — Argentina made three changes in the starting lineup to face New Zealand in the Rugby Championship on Saturday.
Lock Tomas Lavanini returned from a one-match suspension for dangerous play in the 28-9 loss to the All Blacks in Napier three weeks ago, and flanker Juan Manuel Leguizamon, who was already ruled out with a torn calf, was replaced on the blindside flank by Tucuman utility Benjamin Macome, whose 20th cap will mark his first start in the championship.
Tomas Cubelli will run out as the scrumhalf, swapping with Martin Landajo, who started all four previous matches in the Rugby Championship.
Also, flanker Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe said he will miss the last-round match against Australia in Mendoza next week to fly home to Toulon to be with his baby boy, born on Wednesday. Fernandez Lobbe said he’d planned during the bye week to fly home on Sunday for the birth, but the baby came earlier than expected.
