TIAA Named on DiversityInc’s 2019 Top 50 List
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 2019--TIAA was named #15 on the 2019 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list. This marks the seventh consecutive year TIAA has attained this honor.
TIAA placed 15 of 50 this year, entering the top 20 companies and increasing its ranking by six places from 2018. TIAA also placed on four specialty lists including; Top Companies for LGBT Employees, Executive Women, ERGs, and Diverse Leadership. This honor confirms TIAA’s commitment to workplace diversity that reflects the clients they serve.
The DiversityInc Top 50 list, issued yearly since 2001, recognizes the nation’s top companies for diversity and inclusion management. Companies are evaluated on four key areas of measurement: Talent Pipeline, Talent Development, Leadership Accountability and Supplier Diversity. These companies excel in hiring, retaining and promoting women, minorities, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+ and veterans.
“We’re seeing real business and workforce impact through our inclusion and diversity strategy – this is the true innovation that can be realized,” said Corie Pauling, Senior Vice President and Chief Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) Officer at TIAA. “As both a business imperative and a reflection of our values, I&D is serving as a strategic lever to better engage customers in a quickly evolving and competitive environment.”
DiversityInc’s extensive annual survey yields a driven ranking based on talent results in the workforce and management, senior leadership accountability, talent programs, workplace practices, philanthropy and supplier diversity. This year’s competition was improved by adding questions that connect talent programs and workplace practices to desired talent results. The Top 50 analysis also addressed the intersectionality of race by analyzing women and men representing each race/ethnicity separately, rather than combined.
The top 50 companies and their rankings were announced at DiversityInc’s special event held at Cipriani Wall Street on Tuesday, May 7.
