LANDSTUHL, Germany (AP) _ Nine more U.S. soldiers with battlefield injuries from fighting in Iraq arrived Tuesday for treatment at a military hospital in western Germany, raising to 96 the number of war-wounded brought to the facility so far.

He gave no details on the identity of the wounded, the soldiers’ units or how and where they were wounded. All were taken to the nearby Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.

Ahead of Tuesday’s arrival, 87 people with combat-related injuries had been brought to Landstuhl _ 49 Marines, 34 from the Army, two from the Navy, one from the Air Force and one U.S. civilian.
