DENVER (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a motorcycle officer who was seriously injured in a crash that involved two other vehicles in suburban Denver.

KCNC-TV reports Lakewood police officer Mark O’Donnell, a 12-year veteran of the force, remained hospitalized Friday.

Thursday’s accident near a busy intersection on Colfax Avenue west of Denver left the driver of one of the vehicles with unspecified injuries. Investigators have not said what led to the crash.

Police tweeted photos of the officer’s motorcycle on its side in the middle of the street surrounded by accident debris, as well as a photo of an SUV with severe front-end damage straddling the median.

O’Donnell was on duty at the time of the crash.
