Former Jackson resident dies in crash
DANIEL — On March 5, a fatal crash occurred at milepost 123 on Highway 189 south of Daniel. Around 9:18 p.m., Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to the area for a two-vehicle collision.
A 2014 Ford Escape was traveling southbound on Highway 189 when the vehicle crossed the center line and entered the northbound lane, colliding with a 2009 Dodge Ram.
The driver of the Ford has been identified as 26-year-old Big Piney resident Cory J. Sequera. Sequera was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Dodge was 22-year-old Pinedale resident Cassidy Jensen. Jensen was not wearing her seatbelt and was transported to Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County for injuries sustained in the crash.
The crash is under investigation.
Sequera, who has ties to Jackson, last talked to the Jackson Hole News&Guide in the fall of 2016 when his wife, Bonny Wood, died in a car accident.
“Bonny and I wanted to get out and start our new life together,” Sequera previously said. “I’ve lost everything I could possibly lose. I’ve had the greatest pain I could have.”
