Traffic stop yields 50 lbs. of marijuana
Nebraska State Patrol troopers arrested two men and seized 50 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Kimball.
About 1:30 p.m. MT Sunday, a trooper stopped an eastbound 2018 Ford EcoSport that was speeding near mile marker 18 on I-80, according to a press release from the patrol.
In a search after stopping the vehicle, troopers found 50 pounds of marijuana in heat-sealed bags concealed in luggage in the rear of the vehicle, the patrol said.
The driver, a 34-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, and a 31-year-old passenger from Sacramento, California, were arrested for possession of marijuana, more than one pound; possession with intent to deliver; and no drug tax stamp. Both men were lodged in the Kimball County Jail.
