State police: 1 held on drug charges after Toll Road traffic stop
A traffic stop on Wednesday led to the arrest of a 24-year-old South Bend man, Indiana State Police said today.
Just before 11:30 p.m. an Indiana State Police trooper had pulled over a BMW for an equipment violation at the Howe exit, state police at Fort Wayne said in a statement.
When talking with the driver, Aries Jevon Alexander, the trooper smelled an odor consistent with marijuana, the statement said.
It said the vehicle had more than 30 grams of suspected marijuana and an estimated five grams of suspected cocaine.
Alexander was taken to the LaGrange County Jail and preliminarily charged with dealing and possession of cocaine, both felonies, and two misdemeanor charges.
