Mistrial for man accused of sexually assaulting teens
TORRINGTON, Conn. (AP) — The trial of a Connecticut man accused of sexually assaulting two teenage family members has ended in mistrial.
A prosecutor tells The Republican-American that the state intends to retry 39-year-old Daniel Korn, of Litchfield, on charges including first- and fourth-degree sexual assault. A jury said they had deadlocked 3-3 on the charges before the judge declared the mistrial Monday.
Korn’s attorney, William Conti, argued at trial that the accusers resented Korn as a disciplinarian and wanted to “get back at him.” Conti declined to comment after the mistrial.
