Central Illinois Green Club offers thanks

September 9, 2018

Central Illinois Green Club would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors and all of our riders who participated in the 2018 “Ride the River.”

This year’s event was held on Aug. 25 where 98 riders completed a 54-mile trek along the Iroquois and Kankakee Rivers. Stops along the way included Ag Reliant in Aroma Park, lunch at the Momence Park District Island and a special afternoon stop at the Darrell Stauffenberg farm near Aroma Park. It is through the generosity of the sponsors and riders that allows Central Illinois Green Club to complete a fundraising event of this size and to benefit our local agricultural community.

The 2018 “Ride the River” event raised more than $12,000 this year. The money raised will be distributed in December to the Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapters local to Central Illinois Green Club. Those Chapters are: Clifton Central High School, Dwight Township High School, Herscher High School, Iroquois West High School, Manteno High School, Peotone High School, Momence High School, St. Anne High School and Tri-Point High School.

The money received will be used by the chapters to fulfill the needs of the chapters. Again, Thank you to all.

Craig Long,

President Central Illinois Green Club
