Texas A&M-Kingsville 41, Angelo State 20

KINGSVILLE, Texas (AP) _ Jeremy Burnell rushed for 97 yards, including a touchdown run of 54 yards Saturday night, leading Texas A&M-Kingsville to a 41-20 victory over Angelo State that gave the Javelinas their fourth straight Lone Star Conference championship.

A&M-Kingsville (9-1, 7-0) now has won 23 consecutive games in LSC play. Angelo State fell to 6-3-1 and 4-2-1.

Wesley Whiten scored twice on runs of 1 and 4 yards, and Oktay Basci passed for 20 yards to Karl Williams for another score and a 21-0 lead for the Javelinas. Norman Miller had a 92-yard kickoff return, and Cleavon Rollins scored on a 1-yard run.

Angelo State scored on Erik Hartman’s passes of 9 yards to Shawn Tasby and 40 yards to Stanley Johnson and a 1-yard run by Aric Sardinea.

Basci completed 12 of 22 passes for 143 yards. Hartman completed 23 of 49 passes for 316 yards. Johnson had 5 receptions for 112 yards.
