TYNGSBORO -- The Tyngsboro High School football team fell into a big early hole on Friday and was never able to recover against unbeaten Maynard.
It was Maynard running away with a dominant 36-7 victory at Tyngsboro Elementary School.
Tyngsboro (1-2) finally got on the board in the fourth quarter when Tucker Carmichael connected on a 60-yard touchdown pass to Josh Lesofsky. Carmichael threw for 161 yards and added another 74 yards on the ground.
Evan Robson also shined for the Tigers with 100 rushing yards on nine carries.
Stoneham 44, Burlington 14
STONEHAM -- The Burlington High football team lost its Middlesex League battle with Stoneham, 44-14.
Khyle Pena threw two touchdown passes for Burlington, including a 98-yard catch-and-run play with Ryan O’Halloran in the second quarter.
Burlington cut the Stoneham lead to 30-14 when Pena hit Jack McCauley with a 57-yard scoring strike in the third quarter, but that was it for BHS.
