BILL COSBY

NORRISTOWN — Bill Cosby spent his first night in prison alone, in a single cell near the infirmary, as he began his three-to-10-year sentence for sexual assault. Corrections officials announced Wednesday that Cosby — now known as Inmate No. NN7687 — will serve his sentence at SCI Phoenix, a new state prison about 20 miles from the gated estate where a jury concluded he drugged and molested a woman in 2004. PENNSYLVANIA DIOCESE-SEX ABUSE INVESTIGATION

PHILADELPHIA — The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Wednesday will hear oral argument about whether a report into child sexual abuse in the state’s Roman Catholic dioceses should name or identify priests who have challenged its accuracy.

DENVER — The playoff-chasing Colorado Rockies will send right-hander German Marquez and his blazing fastball to the mound Wednesday night for the third game of a four-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies. Marquez has 210 strikeouts this season and is four away from tying the Rockies record set by Ubaldo Jimenez in 2010. The Phillies will throw righty Nick Pivetta (7-13, 4.58). By Pat Graham.
