Donald Trump to visit California wildfire victims Saturday
President Trump will travel to California Saturday to meet with residents affected by wildfires that have killed at least 59 people and destroyed nearly 10,000 homes.
The president earlier this week approved expedited federal disaster aid to the state. Mr. Trump has voiced support on Twitter for firefighters and other first responders, after earlier criticizing the state for what he called poor forest management.
In the “Camp” fire north of Sacramento, about 52,000 people have been evacuated and at least 130 residents are missing. It has burned more than 140,000 acres.
In southern California, the Woolsey fire has burned nearly 100,000 acres, destroying more than 400 buildings and killing at least three people.
