Poet to read from first collection in Winona

WINONA — Dan Dietrich will read from his first poetry collection, “Homestead,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Blue Heron Coffeehouse, 162 W. Second St., Winona.

The event is part of the Laureate Writers Series. Admission is free.

Dietrich lives in the driftless area of southeastern Minnesota. He describes himself as “a devotee of Thoreau’s journals, wood heat and yellow labs.”

Dietrich’s reading will be followed by an open mic session. The theme is “borders.”
