BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) — Authorities have made an arrest in the slaying four years ago of a Brockton man who was gunned down in the driveway of his mother's home.

Police say 23-year-old James Hilliard was shot nine times on Oct. 19, 2010 as he was getting into his vehicle.

The Enterprise (http://bit.ly/1rtlAZd ) reports that the victim's mother watched from her window as her son was slain.

Prosecutors said in court Tuesday that 22-year-old Tequan Brown waited on a bicycle outside the home before opening fire. He was arrested based on new evidence from a witness who saw Brown on a bicycle in the area at the time of the shooting.

Brown was held without bail after pleading not guilty to murder and gun offenses.

Prosecutors say Hilliard and Brown had a "longstanding beef."
