Food drive aims to combat students hunger in summer
STAMFORD — For children in need, going to school means getting at least one good meal a day. But during the summer months, these children go hungry without that crucial school lunch! Stamford Public Schools is collecting food for the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County to provide these children. The drive begins May 20 and ends June 7.
Each school is asking for a specific item. Strawberry Hill School has put out a call for cold cereal while Scofield Magnet Middle School is taking macaroni and cheese. Other schools are accepting grape jelly, peanut butter, bags of rice, tuna, and apple sauce. Check your local school to find out where and what to donate today!
