January 15, 2019

FLORENCE, S.C. -- Chicken bog for a good cause will be the order of the day Jan. 31 at Windy Hill Fire Department’s headquarters stations.

The Fraternal Order of Police Pee Dee Lodge No. 25 will have a chicken bog fundraiser to benefit Florence County Sheriff’s deputy Arie Davis who was one of seven law enforcement officers shot Oct. 3 while serving a warrant in Vintage Place subdivision.

“Being shot in the lower part of the leg, her injuries require continuous care. The next surgery will be to remove left-over bullet fragments from her foot and she has a long road ahead,” according to the flyer on the event.

“She will be unable to return to work for many months. Pee Dee FOP is happy to partner with Arie’s family to host a fundraiser to help with her expenses,” according to the flyer.

The bog will sell for $8 a plate and will come with free delivery for orders of 10 plates or more.

The sale is set for 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the station at 103 North Williamston Road -- about a half a block north of East Palmetto Street.
