Louisiana: Statewide freeze coming, snow possible
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — State officials are warning people across Louisiana to get ready for freezing temperatures, with up to an inch (2.5 centimeters) of snow possible in some areas.
Light snow was reported in parts of Louisiana for about an hour early Tuesday.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for 10 parishes north of Baton Rouge until 9 a.m. (CST).
Officials say light icing was also possible on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses that could cause hazardous driving conditions.
It was 37 degrees (2.8 Celsius) in Baton Rouge early Tuesday.
