Clowning for a Cause: Students don red noses for relief campaign
The United States Coast Guard Dolphin helicopter circled the soccer/football fields twice on a hot gusty day, as the crowd of 1,500 students and teachers gathered around the aircraft near the running track to begin their celebration of the third annual Red Nose Day at James Pace High School.
For the past four years, Comic Relief USA’s mission to end child poverty through their multi-week campaign culminated with Thursday’s Red Nose Day, sponsored locally by Walgreens.
“I’m grateful that my company deeply feels a social responsibility to give back,” Hugo Rivera, Walgreens store manager at a Harlingen location stated. “And we’re especially grateful that Pace continues to be such an enthusiastic partner.”
