Bridge construction to close portion of Hillegas Road for 8 months
A portion of Hillegas Road will be closed for eight months to allow for bridge construction, the Indiana Department of Transportation said today.
The closure will begin April 1 on Hillegas Road between Leesburg and Goshen roads, the transportation department said in a statement.
Overnight lane restrictions or scheduled slowdowns are also planned on Interstate 69 between mile markers 308 and 310 for the bridge work, INDOT said.
A detour for southbound traffic uses Washington Center Road to U.S. 33 to U.S. 30 to Coliseum Boulevard West on Hillegas. Northbound traffic will use Hillegas to Coliseum West to U.S. 30 to U.S. 33 to Washington Center Road.
The Coliseum West connection is part of the reconstruction and will be closed at some time, INDOT said, but there is no scheduled time for the closure. INDOT anticipates the closure will be sometime mid-summer, the statement said.
