Surgery Partners: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (AP) _ Surgery Partners Inc. (SGRY) on Wednesday reported a loss of $21 million in its third quarter.

The Brentwood, Tennessee-based company said it had a loss of 61 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs and costs related to mergers and acquisitions, were 19 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 9 cents per share.

The surgical facilities operator posted revenue of $443.9 million in the period, which topped Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $440.2 million.

Surgery Partners expects full-year revenue in the range of $1.75 billion to $1.8 billion.

Surgery Partners shares have climbed 18 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 80 percent in the last 12 months.
