Veterans United sets date for Christmas wreath ceremony

December 4, 2018

BULLHEAD CITY — The 12th annual Veterans United, Inc., Christmas Wreath Ceremony will be held at noon on Sunday, Dec. 15, at Arizona Veterans Memorial Park along the Colorado River in Bullhead City.

The ceremony in front of the Medal of Honor Memorial near the north entrance to Veterans Memorial Park will launch the display of Christmas wreaths in recognition of active and veteran service members, living or dead, from any time period or state as requested by the sponsor.

Wreaths may be sponsored for $25 each or $100 for five. The display will remain through mid-January.

Each wreath will display the name of a service member and their sponsor on a ribbon and bow along with an American flag. Sponsors may be individuals, businesses, civic and veterans organizations or other groups.

A large wreath will be placed in front of the main memorial behind the Bullhead City American Legion post.

To sponsor one or more wreaths or to make a donation to the wreath program, contact Larry Stevenson at 928-542-7662 or Dick Patzold at 928-704-0077.

“Some of us have served our country while others are citizens who support our veterans,” Patzold said. “VUI conducts a program every year to remember and properly recognize our veterans — past, present and future — for their contributions to the protection of our nation and its citizens, as well as the preservation of freedom throughout the world.”
