BHS volleyball goes 2-1

COLUMBUS -- The Beatrice volleyball team finished 2-1 at the Columbus Invite on Saturday.

They defeated Blair in straight sets 25-15, 25-17.

Ally Thavenet led the offense with four kills while McKenzie Osborne and Devyn Burroughs had three kills each, Ava Lovitt and Hailey Schaaf had two kills each and Kaitlin Church had one kill.

Osborne dished out 10 assists while Lovitt had six assists. Burroughs had three ace serves while Lovitt, Mariah Allen and Mak Hatcliff had one ace serve each.

Defensively, Burroughs and Schaaf had a block each while Hatcliff had 11 digs.

Beatrice also defeated Lakeview in straight sets 25-21, 27-25.

Allen had six kills while Burroughs had five kills, Lovitt and Burroughs had four kills each and Osborne had one kill.

Osborne had 10 assists while Lovitt had five assists. Thavenet had two ace serves and Osborne had one ace serve.

On defense, Thavenet, Burroughs and Schaaf had a block each. Osborne had 12 digs and Allen had 11 digs.

Beatrice’s lone loss came against Kearney Catholic in straight sets 27-25, 25-21.

Thavenet and Burroughs had five kills each while Lovitt and Allen had four kills each. Osborne had two kills and Schaaf had one kill.

Osborne had 12 assists and Lovitt had five assists. Lovitt also had two ace serves.

The Lady O got three blocks from Schaaf and one block from Thavenet.

Beatrice runs their record to 10-7 on the season and they will travel to Grand Island on Tuesday for a triangular against Northwest and Hastings.
