March 21, 2019

WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) — Federal and local authorities in Connecticut say 29 people have been charged in a major drug-selling ring that distributed heroin and cocaine in the Waterbury area.

Officials arrested 23 people Wednesday and one Thursday. Another suspect already was in state custody and four more are being sought in connection with federal grand jury indictments issued last week.

Federal agents and local police seized nearly 3,000 bags of heroin, 14 ounces (400 grams) of cocaine, 12 ounces (350 grams) of a fentanyl-heroin mix, 14 ounces (400 grams) of heroin, 20 pounds (9 kilograms) of marijuana, four handguns, four vehicles and $120,000 in cash.

Authorities say Keith Jordan of Waterbury supplied large quantities of drugs to street-level dealers.

It’s not clear if Jordan has a lawyer who could respond to the allegations.
