Man Allegedly Kills 4 in Calif.
ROSEMEAD, Calif. (AP) _ Sheriff’s deputies searched Tuesday for a man who allegedly shot and killed four people, wounded two others, then kidnapped and raped a woman before freeing her hours later.
Killed in Monday night’s shooting spree were 37-year-old Oscar and 14-year-old Andy Pacheco; Jaime Pacheco, 48; and Victor Lopez, 42. The relationships among the victims were not immediately known.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies were looking for Evelio Rivera Zacarias, 42, and an accomplice who drove him from the shooting scene, said Deputy Steve Flamm.
Zacarias’ ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend were visiting with the man’s relatives when the suspect walked in shooting, said Deputy Carrie Stuart. The current boyfriend was killed.
Zacarias’ ex-girlfriend fled through a back door and he snatched a 40-year-old woman from the home, Deputy Steve Flamm said. He released her Tuesday.
A 37-year-old woman was in fair condition with a gunshot wound to the right thigh and a 17-year-old boy was in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the face. Their names were withheld.
