October 5, 2018

NORFOLK - A Norfolk man was arrested after police and firefighters responded to fire Wednesday night.

According to Captain Mike Bauer, Norfolk Police and Norfolk Fire responded to some type of fire and smoke reported at 1225 West Pasewalk Avenue.

Responding units found a patio fire pit burning, and while on-scene, officers had contact with a man identified as 50-year-old Charles Perman.

A check of his record show that he had two Madison County arrest warrants.

Officers took him into custody on the warrants.

In a search, officers recovered a small clear zip-lock bag that contained a white crystal substance from Perman that tested positive for methamphetamine.

Perman was then arrested for possession of a controlled substance. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
