On Oct. 22, 1955, she was united in marriage with Donald P. Pilsner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville. Connie was hard-working throughout her life. She began working at the Mayville Bank in high school and continued to work there until she began to raise her family. She also farmed with her husband and they raised and perfected Pilsner’s Black Popcorn. They also raised pumpkins and sold them in the fall for many years.
Connie was the quintessential homemaker; she loved taking care of her husband and children and she was a wonderful cook. She loved traveling with her husband and they enjoyed many trips together. Connie also enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to take the grandkids fishing and would often pack a picnic lunch to share. Grandma also loved to play games with the grandchildren and their friends and she always had prizes for everyone playing. Connie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon and was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville.
Survivors include her two children, Marie (Greg) Northup of Weston and Mark (Jenny) Pilsner of Horicon; four grandchildren, Brian (Haiyang) Northup of Kansas City, Nathan (Claire Muerdter) Northup of Iowa City, Olivia Pilsner, and Nicholas Pilsner, both of Horicon; three sisters, Therese (Donnie) Weiss, Margaret (John) Oechsner, and Joan (Ralph) Muenchow; other relatives and friends.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Andrew “Butch” Oechsner, Francis Oechsner, and Jerome Oechsner; and two sisters, Marilyn Schinderle and Rose Ann Rake.
