Police: Man Robbed On W-B Street Tuesday

WILKES-BARRE — A man was robbed in broad daylight as he walked along a city street on New Year’s Day, according to Wilkes-Barre police. The man told police he was assaulted as he walked home from work along Kidder Street at about 1:55 p.m. Tuesday. He said that a man struck him in the head and face, demanded money and claimed he had a gun. The suspect took the man’s wallet and fled north on Kidder Street toward Conyngham Avenue, according to police. He is described as a thin black male, about 6 feet tall and 135 pounds. He was wearing a gray hooded jacket, gray pants and white sneakers. He had “notably deformed teeth,” police said. Anyone with information may call Wilkes-Barre police at 570-208-4200.
