Cemetery tour brings Winona history to life

September 17, 2018

WINONA — Voices from yesteryear will speak up Oct. 13-14 at Winona’s Woodlawn Cemetery.

The Winona County Historical Society will host the Voices from the Past Cemetery Walk, bringing to life through actors everyone from the city’s founders to its scoundrels.

Historic Winonans who will be presented include John Latsch, Wise Norton, Donald and Harvey Bosshard, Stephen Taylor, and more than a dozen more. A walk into the older part of Woodlawn will highlight some of the early history of the town.

Contact the History Center at (507) 454-2723, Ext. 0. Admission is taken at the gate before your journey at noon on both days. There will also be a presentation at 7 p.m., Oct. 11, in Wanek Hall at the History Center.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and $3 for youth 12 and younger. For more information, visit www.winonahistory.org or call the History Center.
