MOUNTAIN IRON, Minn. — Jordan See and Austin Benz are becoming experts on an uncommon condition known as omphalocele. The young couple is expecting their first child, Avery Rose. Avery, due to be born in April, was diagnosed at just 14 weeks gestation with the rare birth defect. Omphalocele occurs early in pregnancy when the abdominal cavity fails to form normally. EXCHANGE-SNOWMOBILE CLUB

BYRON, Minn. — The Byron Snow Bears snowmobile club is one of hundreds of other clubs across the state that invest thousands of hours of volunteer labor getting snowmobile trails ready for the first snowfall of winter. Multiple clubs come together to help put on the Snow Bear’s annual Great Southern Minnesota Grass Drag Nationals. EXCHANGE-HIGH SCHOOL TRAINING

MINNEAPOLIS — Launched in 2007, the Coaching Boys Into Men program aims to prevent relationship abuse, harassment and sexual assault. In Minnesota, high school coaches are required to undergo online training that covers these topics. Participating in outside programs like Coaching Boys Into Men is voluntary, but the city of Minneapolis secured a grant from the Centers For Disease Control to offer the training to local high schools, starting with North High football.
