Huntington St Joe girls rally for win over Louisville Christian

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Paige Shy scored 15 and Bailee Adkins 13 to lift Huntington St. Joe (14-1) to a 57-42 win over Louisville Christian (17-6) Friday in girls high school basketball at Mercy High School in Louisville, Kentucky.

Adkins also had seven rebounds and seven assists.

Aroma Khlopkova led the Centurion with 20 points and nine rebounds.

St. Joe outscored Louisville Christian 32-13 in the second half to overcome a 29-25 deficit.

GRACE CHRISTIAN 49, CALVARY BAPTIST 22: The Soldiers blanked the Eagles in the third quarter and rolled to a victory.

Samantha Wells and Emily Hutchinson scored 18 and 13 respectively for Grace Christian (13-4), which plays a 2:30 p.m. Saturday game at Chesapeake.

Ashlynn Bowles led Calvary Baptist with 10 points.

FAIRLAND 61, COAL GROVE 41: The Dragons outscored the Hornets 13-0 in the first quarter and never looked back in a key Ohio Valley Conference road victory. Sophomore Clayton Thomas and freshman Aiden Porter scored 16 each for Fairland. Senior Matt Mondlak scored 15. Jacob Polcyn grabbed nine rebounds. The Dragons (13-4 overall, 8-1 OVC) made 24 of 34 shots (71 percent). Senior Aaron Music led Coal Grove (9-5, 6-3) with 24 points.

Grace Christian (6-10) had three players in double-figures with Eli Foster’s 20 points leading the way.

COAL GROVE 71, GALLIA ACADEMY 40: The Hornets (13-4 overall, 8-2 Ohio Valley Conference) remained tied with Fairland for first place in the league after a rout of the Blue Angels in Centenary, Ohio. Baylee McKnight led Coal Grove with 19 points. Addi Dillow scored 16 and Destiny Dolen 10. Maddy Petro paced Gallia Academy with 13 points and Brooklyn Hill scored 10.

SYMMES VALLEY 51, SCIOTOVILLE EAST 17: Taylor Sells scored 18, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked three shots as the Vikings (8-5 overall, 4-5 Southern Ohio Conference) pummeled the Tartans. Rachael Hayes scored 13. Hailee Littlejohn added 10.

LINCOLN COUNTY 78, SHERMAN 60: Graci Brumfield totaled 20 points and 11 assists in the home win for the Panthers. Natalie Fout scored 18 for Lincoln County (8-6). Carly McComas scored 12 and Keke Henderson 11. Dejah Busby led Sherman with 19 points. Hailee Skeens added 17.

WHEELERSBURG 57, WAVERLY 35: The Pirates (14-3 overall, 10-1 Southern Ohio Conference) used 20 points from freshman Aliana Keeney to rout the Tigers (10-6, 5-6). Kaylee Darnell scored 13. Zoiee Smith paced Waverly with 10 points.

NELSONVILLE-YORK 49, RIVER VALLEY 29: Mackenzie Hurd scored 15 for the Buckeyes (10-7 overall, 5-3 TVC) against the Raiders (5-14, 0-9) in Bidwell, Ohio. Hannah Jacks paced River Valley with 12 points.

SISSONVILLE 44, LOGAN 40: Marleigh Bays turned in a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds as the host Indians (14-2) won. Laila Arthur scored 12. For the Wildcats (8-7), Peyton Ilderton and Jill Tothe each scored 13.

ASHLAND 48, EAST CARTER 34: Morgan Bradley scored 12 and snatched 10 rebounds to help the Kittens beat the Raiders. Julia Parker scored 16. East Carter was led by Haley Campbell with 16.
