IN BRIEF:

— SHERIFF-CORRUPTION CHARGES — Jury selection is scheduled to begin in the corruption trial of Westmoreland County Sheriff Jonathan Held.

— EXPLOSIVES FOUND-ARREST — Police have arrested a New Jersey man after finding an inert mortar round behind an apartment building in Pennsylvania.

— CHURCH CLOSURES — The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has announced three churches that previously merged with other parishes will close after the new year.

FBN--STEELERS-BLOWN LEAD

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers let another one slip away. For the second straight week, the Steelers held a second-half lead and lost. This time, Pittsburgh blew its biggest lead ever at home, as Michael Badgley kicked a 29-yard field goal on the final play, lifting the Los Angeles Chargers to a 33-30 victory over the Steelers on Sunday night.
