San Antonio arts groups offer deals to government employees affected by shutdown

The San Antonio Museum of Art and Magik Theatre are offering free admission deals to government workers during the partial shutdown.

Federal employees will receive free admission to the museum for the duration of the shutdown. Each employee may bring a guest who can get in free, too. To get the deal, they should show their government ID at the admission desk.

And Magik Theatre is offering furloughed employees up to four tickets to opening weekend of “Dr. Seuss’ Cat in the Hat,” the company’s upcoming production based on the kid lit classic. Tickets can be picked up in person at the theater, 420 S. Alamo St.

Performances take place at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 1 and 2 p.m. Feb. 2-3.
