COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ Robert Warzycha scored off a rebound of his own missed shot Saturday night to give the Columbus Crew a 2-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids in the MLS.

The Crew’s win, combined with losses by New England and Miami, put them in the playoffs for the fourth time in the league’s four-year history. Columbus (16-10) also set a franchise record for victories.

Columbus swept the season series with Colorado 2-0 after defeating the Rapids once in the three previous seasons.

Stern John opened the scoring for the Crew in the 13th minute on a header, with assists by Rob Smith and Mike Lapper. Marcelo Balboa tied the score in the 35th minute on a 30-yard free kick.

The Crew led 17-14 in total shots and 8-5 in shots on goal. Goalkeeper Ian Feuer had six saves for Colorado (16-9), while Mark Dougherty made three saves for the Crew.
