Sewickley attorney Michael Monyok helps author book about global data protection
A Sewickley resident served as the U.S. author of a book about global data security and protection.
Michael Monyok, a partner in the Pittsburgh-based firm Meyer, Unkovic and Scott, was the U.S. author of the book “A Global Roadmap to Personal Data Protection Asia Pacific, Europe & USA” that was recently released by Meritas Law Firms, an invitation-only global alliance of independent law firms that work collaboratively to provide businesses with qualified legal counsel.
The new book provides a detailed look data security laws for multiple countries including China, Hong Kong, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the United States, and is geared toward helping readers in their efforts to make sense of the disparate data protection laws that exist throughout the international marketplace today, according to a news release.
The book was edited by Monyok’s partner Dennis Unkovic. As editor, Unkovic worked closely with Meritas members throughout the world in producing the publication, and Monyok authored the section on U.S. data protection laws and regulations.
Monyok is a native of Pittsburgh and lives in Sewickley with his wife and children. As a former swimmer and captain of his college swim team, he can be found in the local pool teaching his kids when he is not immersed with the latest inventions, according to his corporate biography.
