— KENT STATE-MAY 4 SHOOTINGS: An alumnus is planning Kent State University’s commemoration of 50 years since Ohio National Guard members fatally shot four students there and wounded nine during protests of the Vietnam War on May 4, 1970.

— JAILED MAN DEATH-LAWSUIT: The U.S. Supreme Court won’t hear an appeal by Montgomery County seeking immunity in a wrongful death lawsuit involving an inmate who died in 2012 during a medical emergency.

— WRIGHT BROTHERS MONUMENT: Two nonprofits have pledged funding for a proposed monument honoring the Wright brothers in southwest Ohio.
