Maine’s fall hunting seasons ending for the year

November 24, 2018

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — Maine’s big hunting seasons are wrapping up for the fall.

The main firearms season for deer ends on Saturday. That’s also the last day of the year for hunting bears and moose. The bear hunt is mostly over at this point anyway, as most of the hunting is done over bait at the early part of the season.

The moose hunt is also limited to only a small part of the state at this part of November.

The season for hunting deer with muzzleloaders begins on Monday and lasts until Dec. 8. It’s also still legal to hunt deer in some parts of Maine via archery until Dec. 8.
