Early morning fire at recycling center
ORONOCO TOWNSHIP — An early morning fire at Watson’s Recycling may have burned bright Friday but no monetary damage was reported, according to the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office.
Olmsted County Sheriff’s deputies were called to 3584 81st St. NW around 2:50 a.m., Capt. Scott Behrns said. A motorist traveling on U.S. Highway 52 reported seeing a large fire on the east side of the highway, Behrns said.
When emergency crews arrived, they found large flames and thick black smoke.
A total of nine cars were affected, owner Jeremiah Watson said.
The fire occurred in an area holding vehicle scrap metal. Behrns said there were no cost damages related to the fire.
