Miss Mohave County Fair pageant seeks contestants

The Miss Mohave County Fair Pageant is seeking contestants for the Sept. 14 event.

Brandee Proffit,owner of All Starz Academy and Starkydz Showcase Productions, said applications are being accepted until Friday, Aug. 31. Mohave County residents ages five to 22 are eligible to compete. There will be four age divisions: Young Miss, ages 5-18; Junior Miss, ages 9-12, Teen Miss, ages 13-16, and Miss, ages 17-22. Contestants will all compete in evening gown and in onstage interview. There will be an optional talent category for contestant seeking the talent title.

Proffit has been directing pageants since 2007.

Mohave County Fair Queen winners will represent the fair at community activities throughout the year.

The pageant is Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. at the Mohave County Fairgrounds. A queen will be crowned in each division along with three runner-ups. Division queens win a title, trophy, crown, sash, flowers and fair admission tickets with a parking pass. Runner ups will each receive a trophy.

A pageant workshop is scheduled for Aug. 31 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at 2634 Airway Ave. in Kingman.
