Marco to lead Christmas parade on Dec. 1
HUNTINGTON - Dutch Miller Auto will present the annual Huntington Christmas Parade of Lights for the third consecutive year at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.
Downtown Live, a committee of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce, announced this week that Marshall University’s mascot, Marco the Bison, will serve as the grand marshal of the 2018 Christmas parade.
Sponsored by the city of Huntington and the Cabell County Commission, the annual parade draws thousands of people to downtown Huntington.
“Thanks to Chris Miller and all of the people at Dutch Miller Auto, we’re able to have another great parade that coincides with the upcoming holiday season,” said Bill Bissett, president and CEO of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce. “We are thrilled to have Marco the Bison serve as the grand marshal of this year’s parade, highlighting the valuable role that Marshall University and higher education play in the Huntington community.”
The annual Huntington Christmas Parade of Lights is organized by Downtown Live with support from HD Media, iHeart Communications and WOWK TV-13.
“Dutch Miller Auto is pleased to present the Huntington Christmas Parade of Lights again this year,” said Chris Miller, general manager of Dutch Miller Auto. “This event showcases the best of Huntington as businesses and organizations throughout the region gather together to celebrate the holidays, as well as America’s Best Community.”
The parade will begin on 4th Avenue and 12th Street and end at 3rd Avenue and 11th Street. Pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with refreshments, will be hosted at Huntington’s Kitchen, 911 3rd Ave., immediately following the parade.
