MUSICIANS REACT TO COLIN KAEPERNICK'S NIKE AD
UNDATED (AP) —Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick's (KAP'-ur-nihks) Nike ad is drawing strong reaction from musicians -- some negative, some positive. John Rich of Big and Rich tweeted a photo of his sound coordinator holding the tops of a pair of socks with the Nike swoosh cut off. Rich promised to burn them. Charlie Daniels tweets, "Bye bye Nike." On the flip side, 2Chainz calls the ad "super legend." Chance The Rapper re-tweeted a video of someone burning Nike shoes with the comment, "Can u be this mad at police brutality." The ad shows a close-up of Kaepernick's face with the tagline, "Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything." Kaepernick prompted a national debate when he took a knee during the national anthem at NFL games to protest police brutality and racial inequality.

PASTOR DOES NOT BACK DOWN FROM EULOGY GIVEN AT ARETHA FRANKLIN'S FUNERAL
NEW YORK (AP) — The Atlanta pastor who delivered a eulogy at Aretha Franklin's funeral Friday stands by what he said, even as Franklin's family members say they were caught off guard. Rev. Jasper Williams Junior says he respects the family's opinion but he's "sorry they feel that way." Franklin's nephew, Vaughn Franklin, who says he is speaking for the family, says Williams "spoke for 50 minutes and at no time did he properly eulogize her." He calls Williams' eulogy "very, very distasteful." Williams had said black lives do not matter until they stop killing each other, and that children in a home without a father is "abortion after birth."
