Winona police calls for Monday, Jan. 7: 80-year-old woman injured in car accident

1:08 a.m. — Alexa Elizabeth Anne Weiss, 21, Winona, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after she nearly struck another vehicle near the intersection of Sanborn and Vine streets. Her blood alcohol level was 0.21 percent.

7:45 a.m. — A Winona man reported his ice fishing gear stolen from the back of his truck while it was parked on the 100 block of East Mark Street.

2:09 p.m. — A Winona woman reported her billfold stolen from an unlocked car on 500 block of West Fifth Street. Her credit card was later reported used in Rochester.


12:27 a.m. — Crystal Leshanda Tucker, 34, Mount Carmel, Ill., was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and referred for third-degree test refusal after she was stopped for an inoperable brake light.

12:33 a.m. — A Winona woman living on the 700 block of East Third Street reported that a woman visiting her residence stole cash and credit cards.

1:39 p.m. — A Winona woman living on the 200 block of Washington Street reported a package valued at $13 stolen from her porch.

1:43 p.m. — A Winona woman living on the 200 block of Washington Street reported the theft of a package valued at $40 from her porch.

11 a.m. — Kenneth John Schmit, 47, Altura, was cited for failing to yield at a stop sign after he collided with a vehicle driven by an 80-year-old Winona woman. The woman was transported to Winona Health by Lewiston Ambulance after she complained of leg and back pain.


1:35 p.m. — Mauricio Mariano Tepole Quechulpa was arrested on an outstanding warrant and referred for giving a false name and date of birth to deputies during a traffic stop in Minnesota City.

3:33 p.m. — Felony domestic assault charges have been referred against Samuel Derek Emery, 43, Utica, after he reportedly pulled a 37-year-old woman’s hair out.
