C. Connecticut St. 37, Frostburg St. 17
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) _ Two touchdowns by senior Stan House and outstanding defensive play by safety Hector Concepcion and freshman Garfield White led Central Connecticut to a 37-17 win over Frostburg on Saturday.
House, all-time leading scorer and rusher for Central Connecticut (2-1), notched his first touchdown of the game, and the 34th of his career, from five yards out in the second quarter.
A one-yard run by Frostburg’s (1-1) Brian Ball, and a conversion pass from Jason Henry to Greg Cooper, made it a 34-11 game with 5:50 left in the third quarter.
Henry hooked up with Cooper again, this time on a 44-yard touchdown pass with 9:13 left in the game to close out the Bobcats’ scoring at 17 points as the two-point pass failed.
Central Connecticut added a field goal on a 38-yarder by Adam Wilkinson with 4:33 left in the game for the final score.
